MARULA DECOR BRONZE ANIMAL COLLECTION:
Cast in the age-old “lost wax” bronze casting process that dates back thousands of years, each sculpture is expertly finished by hand to create unique details. This ancient bronze casting process enhances every detail of the original clay sculpture created by the artist.
Once the final stage of polishing and finishing is done, each piece is then carefully treated with layers of anti-tarnish protective coating, in preparation for the painstaking process of hand painting the contrasting detailing onto the silver-plated sculptures, or hand polishing the classic bronze finished pieces.
The bronze sculptures are suitable for indoors and outdoors, whilst the silver sculptures are better suited for indoors. Bronze sculptures placed outside will naturally oxidize, which adds to the beauty and characteristic feature of this metal.
MARULA DECOR COLD-CAST BRONZE FIGURINES AND ANIMALS:
The process of cold-cast bronze is made by mixing bronze powder with a bonding paste and then applying it under pressure to the surface of the piece. This leaves a thin coat of real bronze, which gives the piece the look and feel of a solid bronze sculpture, at a lower price.
Unlike most cheaper figurines found on the market today, the Marula Decor cold-cast bronze range is not painted, and as a result, will not fade or tarnish.
After the cold-cast process is completed, each piece is then detailed by hand to add emphasis and contrast. There are also no visible mold joins in the Marula Decor range items, which one often finds on many other inferior quality figurines
The core material of these ranges is a bonded limestone mix, which once it has been cast and cured, creates a strong and durable material similar to ceramic. In recent years no other supplier has come close to the quality and detail with which the Marula Decor cold-cast bronze pieces are made.
MARULA DECOR PEWTER ANIMAL RANGE:
Each animal is crafted from solid pewter and then given a thin layer of copper. This layer of copper creates a surface that is ideal for electroplating the final layer of brushed satin-finish pewter.
